Wolf Patrol Wins First Place at ECR Camporee

WOLF PATROL WINS 1st PLACE

AT 2008 ECR CAMPOREE!

BSA Troop 35’s Wolf Patrol won first place overall in patrol competitions at the 2008 Camporee, held April 25-27 at Lake O’Neill on Camp Pendelton.    At Camporee, scouts compete in scout skills against forty patrols from South Orange County’s El Camino Real District.   Wolves, who are all freshmen at LBHS, took first place in fire building event and second in obstacle and pioneering.   In addition, the Panther Patrol, comprised of 8th graders at Thurston Middle School, took first place in pioneering.  At dinner, the entire troop pulled together and tied for first place in the Dutch Oven cook-off, providing a gourmet meal with world-class service and a serenade to a hungry Camp Staff.  Scoutmaster Mark Itnyre and the Troop ASMs agreed, “Our rose is seeing the level of participation of the boys, their enthusiasm and support of each other, encouragement and sportsmanship shown to other patrols, and overall scout spirit and adherence to the scout oath and law.”  To top off the evening, three Troop 35 scouts were elected to the Order of the Arrow, the Honor Society of Boy Scouts.
